Seven Questions to Ask Any Copier Vendor

July 17, 2026 · Next Level Business Strategies · Irvine, CA

Most copier salespeople sound identical: better service, better technology, better pricing. The way through the noise isn't comparing brochures — it's asking questions a brochure can't answer.

The seven questions

  • 1. "What's my true cost per page today?" If they quote you without measuring, they're guessing with your money. A real answer starts with an assessment.
  • 2. "What happens when the machine breaks?" Get response time, loaner terms, and replacement terms — in writing. Ours: under four hours on average, free loaner after two days down, free replacement if it can't be fixed to spec.
  • 3. "Can any part of this payment increase?" Escalation clauses hide in plain sight. Make them say it out loud.
  • 4. "What do I owe at the end of the term?" The end of a lease is where the real cost often lives.
  • 5. "Who actually answers the phone?" A local team that knows your account, or a national queue?
  • 6. "Would a smaller machine work?" Watch what happens. An advisor engages the question; a vendor changes the subject.
  • 7. "Who else like me do you serve?" Ask for real outcomes, not logos. We'd point you to our Victory Reports.
A vendor quotes what you asked for. An advisor asks whether it solves the right problem. The questions above are how you find out which one is sitting across from you.

Ask us these questions too — that's the point. Start with a free lease review and hold us to the same standard.
